What is the difference between light, medium, and dark roast?Updated 7 days ago

Roast level is all about how long the beans spend in the roaster, and it changes the flavor a lot:

  • Light roast: roasted for the shortest time. These coffees are brighter and more delicate, with fruity, floral, or tea-like notes. This is where the coffee’s origin shines the most.
  • Medium roast: the sweet spot for many people. You get the best of both worlds, with the character of the origin balanced by caramel, chocolate, and nutty roast flavors. Smooth and well-rounded.
  • Dark roast: roasted the longest. These are bold, rich, and full-bodied, with deep chocolate and caramel flavors and less brightness.

A common myth is that dark roast has more caffeine or is “stronger.” Roast level changes flavor, not caffeine content in any big way. Browse by roast here: https://larryscoffee.com/collections/shop-all-coffee
