Why was my card declined?Updated 7 days ago

That’s frustrating, and it’s usually something small. The most common reasons are:

  • A typo: the card number, expiration date, or security code was entered incorrectly.
  • Billing address mismatch: the billing address needs to match what your bank has on file exactly.
  • Not enough funds or a card limit: your card may have hit its limit.
  • A bank security flag: banks sometimes flag online purchases they see as unusual, especially larger orders.
  • An expired or replaced card.

Here’s what to try:

  1. Double-check your card details and billing address, then try again.
  2. Try a different card or a digital wallet like Apple Pay or Shop Pay.
  3. If it keeps happening, call the number on the back of your card. Your bank can see the reason and approve the charge.
